Tipsy Seagull, Borden Light Marina, Fall River MA

     We took a trip to the Tipsy Seagull over in Fall River with some friends on their boat.  They have a go fast boat and we made the two and a half hour trip in about 45 minutes.  The seagull is a nice bar and restaurant at the Borden Light Marina.  http://bordenlightmarina.com/     http://www.thetipsyseagull.com/      

     There are a couple of face docks that you can tie up to while at the Seagull.  They do fill up fast on weekends but we were lucky to find a space for our friend's 26ft. boat.   It is a fun atmosphere when the weather is good.  The food is good and the drinks very good.  A very nice way to spend an afternoon.

New Windlass and Anchor

     We replaced our old winch and anchor with new ones.  We got a great deal from defender on a Lewmar Pro Series 1000 kit.   It came with a chain/rope rode included.  http://www.defender.com/product3.jsp?path=-1|2276108|2276145|2276146&id=330245

     We matched the windlass with a new Rocna #44 http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1|2276108|2276109|2276117&id=3297655

     We went with a heavier anchor and a lighter rode for our situation.

     I was fortunate that the wiring for the old winch was perfect for the new windlass.  The old controls work with this new one, both on the flybridge and the saloon.  I did have to upgrade the breaker from a 45 amp to a 70 amp.  I found a 70 amp pushmatic on ebay for a good price and it fit perfectly in the panel.
